Integrated Console Control System
Ramses MSC is a new breed of console control system that offers a very powerful and fully integrated multi-track audio record, editing, processing and mixing environment. It has the option of synchronized SD-HD video referencing and is compatible with all Standard and High-Definition Audio and Video formats and frame rates. The system is scalable from 16 to 256 simultaneous input and output channels (512 I/O) with a massive 256 user configurable buss structure.
The advanced architecture of the MassCore mix engine allows the buss structure in Ramses to be nominated as mono, stereo and multiple mono or stereo and surround channels. These can be main busses, multi-track sub and tape returns as well as auxiliary busses.
The control surface itself offers a very comprehensive tactile control with both channel strip and centralized control of EQ, dyn, aux and pans. Touch sensitive moving faders and touch dual concentric encoders means all mix elements can be automated. The clear precise visual feedback makes the system simple and logical to configure and operate with a central touch TFT screen for detailed adjustments and management functions. Joystick surround panning is standard and the unique methodology in navigating through many channels is fast and logical.
Ramses is the core system control surface, Ramses MSC is the fully integrated record, editing, processing and fully automated mixing system that has all the functionality and feel of a large format digital console. The system is fully configurable for specific post-production environments and multi-track recording applications.
This flexibility in how the system can be configured allows for multiple surround formats, so creating simultaneous multi-stem mixes is simple and straightforward. EQ and Dynamics is available in every channel and full support of VST plug-ins is freely assignable on any input, bus or output.
The dedicated automation section allows for control of all mixing parameters and the different automation states can be split and assigned to faders, pans, EQ, dynamics etc independently. The monitor section offers external source monitoring and comprehensive facilities such as summing and down-mixing for all supported formats.

Record Editing
Ramses MSC integrates Merging's Pyramix digital audio workstation technology with up to 256 track real-time record/editing capabilities and compatible with almost any audio format including PMF, BWF, Wave, MXF, AIFF, SDII, OMF, Akai, DSD, AC3 even in the same timeline.
User configurable Peak, VU, PPM and Loudness metering with console and automation status overviews is standard in the system with full support for all VST compatible plug-ins.
Either integrated into Ramses or as a standalone system. Pyramix can be incorporated into any existing work-flow structure and communicate from and to the outside world through AAF, OMF and Final Cut Pro XML. See Merging's Pyramix features list for full details.
MassCore
Ramses MSC incorporates Merging's new MassCore mix engine technology within Merging's integrated Pyramix system. MassCore is a truly deterministic real-time engine that does NOT rely on the Windows or Macintosh operating systems. This then totally avoids the inherent latencies and processing restrictions caused by using these platforms and allows us to take the channel/track count of Ramses to a new level. MassCore is scalable from 16 to 256 input and output channels with a massive 256 channel bus structure. This enables us to configured Ramses as a true console with pre-configured, or user configurable input, output, mix and monitors buses, comms as well as multi-track tape returns.
Audio I/O Interface
Sphynx 2 is recognized throughout the industry as the most advanced and sonically transparent audio converter ever produced. Ramses MSC can interface to any manufacturers converters. However, for the best sonic quality and unparalleled audio transparency Sphynx 2 is the ultimate choice and remote controllable from Ramses MSC.
Offering 8 channels of AD-DA conversion in a single unit and capable of operating at sample rates from 44.1kHz to 384kHz in PCM as well as 1-bit DSD and DXD formats for SACD production. Sphynx 2 represents a significant technological achievement and yet is the most cost-effective 8 channel AD-DA PCM/DSD/DXD converter available today.
Key Features:
8 channel AD-DA PCM, DSD, and DXD audio converter.
Modular design can be specified with 2, 4, 6, or 8 inputs and or outputs.

Video Integration
VCube and VCube-SE are Merging's acclaimed range of Standard and High-definition video player and player / recorder systems that can be incorporated seamlessly within the Ramses MSC integration.
VCube offers a very cost-effective and a perfect solution for video referencing with absolute synchronization at any TV/Film or HDTV frame rate. VCube can be configured as a local device or as part of a multi-system networked media steaming installation. Video I/O includes SDI, VGA and Analog.
VCube also has the options for Apple Final Cut Pro, XML Interchange as well as AAF Interchange in any VCube configuration. OMF interchange is included as standard in all VCube models.

Ramses Optional Edit Bay
The optional Edit Bay offers a very comprehensive and tactile editing environment for the integrated Pyramix system. The Edit Bay has a set of additional machine control functions and time code entry keys with dedicated Pyramix media manager controls and a very advanced jog-wheel editing capability. The Edit panel has a combination of pre-configured dedicated and multi-action key functions as well as a comprehensive series of soft labeled user-defined keys.

Example Chassis Stand Configurations
Ramses' standard chassis for the 8, 16 or 24 fader models is designed for customers who want to build the system into their own bespoke furniture.
A freestanding chassis frame is also available for all configurations with the option of a straight or winged Edit Bay module that can be mounted on either side of the central chassis stand. We can also accommodate a 48 fader dual operator chassis configuration utilizing at least two integrated Pyramix systems.
Merging have a special arrangement with Smart AV for a modified version of their ARC Technology¢â that can be supplied as a retro-fit option for Ramses. ARC Technology¢â offers an alternative and very efficient way of working and unifies the functions of interrogation and channel selection into a spatially fixed array with instant access to any channel or combination of channels. The ARC option is ideal if you have restricted space yet need to control very large track counts.
